Tria is the fusion between a floor lamp and a ceiling lamp. It is based on the concept of a floating object in space. The lamp is made up of three rings, one on top of the other, with the same distance between every one of them and three cables that pass through these rings.
In order to communicate that feeling of a floating object and other aspects such as peace and tranquility, the lamp hangs from the ceiling leaving it at only about 400mm from the floor. This characteristic of Tria helps it to have an indirect, soft and dim light and so only part of the room will be lighten up. The material used is white ceramic, creating a colour contrast with the three burgundy cables. These colours were chosen so that once the lamp is switched on, the cables having a dark colour, blend with the background and so gives a better impression of a floating object but also looks aesthetically pleasing in the daylight. Tria has been designed to be used indoors, preferably in big, minimalistic spaces. Its design tries to follow HAY’s existing product line. Design by Eugenia Ramos, David San Román and María Pásaro.
