Through the Light I Hear My Name is a speculative installation piece made of copper wire, resistors, and an Arduino. The piece explores the juxtaposition between desire and deprivation; in addition, it also centers around the theme of displacement that is common in my work.
The work is a functioning piece that turns is activated and deactivated through motion sensing. When an a viewer moves a hand or body part near the copper cage, the light within turns on and off.
