Lowepro’s ProTactic series is a new line of backpacks designed for travel photographers and photojournalists. From the outset the Protactic was to create new modes of camera access becoming Lowepro’s first bag to have 4 access points including a top “turret” access point.
This project required a close understanding of the customer. Researching what working photographers carry and need to quickly access drove many of the technical details.
After seeing a large number of similarities between military gear and photo carry needs, much of the aesthetic grew out of the tough, utility-driven tasks that working photojournalists face every day.
The finished bags are offered in two sizes, each able to hold everything needed for a day of shooting and on-site editing.
