As a trumpet player of the Greenfield Central Cougar Pride Marching Band, I was always striving for the perfect posture. Taking this concept into consideration, I wanted to create a figure with this posture – toes high, back straight, horn at ten degrees. After utilizing a newspaper armature for the legs, torso, and head, this little man was sculpted out of clay, fired, spray painted black, and covered in Rub N’ Buff for a metallic look. The trumpet was painted with a metallic silver to draw more emphasis on the importance of the instrument itself as well as the technique.
