This project is inspired by air pollution in China. When I studied in Beijing, China in Summer 2015, I was struck by the detrimental air quality people regularly breathe in. Instead of designing gray, foggy scarves, I intended to create colorful scarves that mimic the fake scenery backdrop or LED sunlight that the Chinese government put up in replacement of the invisible landscape.
