THE PROBLEM
As international students, we do not have frequent contact with our parents and rarely hear about the health issues they face. As our parents get older and these issues start to become more problematic with age, this lack of communication caused by distance can hinder our knowledge of their health conditions.Technology can afford us the opportunity to circumvent this issue of distance.

THE GOAL
Design an app that tracks the health of older citizens ranging from the age 45 – 65 years old,
and connect their family to this app so that they can view their day to day health patterns.

DEMOGRAPHIC
The preconceived notion of the elderly being unable to use technology is changing as the aging population today is surrounded by technological devices. The target demographic would be users like our parents, users who are aging and are currently quite well versed with applications and social media, and understand the haptic interaction and user interface design that is being currently used.
There are two distinct portals in this app- the user portal and the family portal. By using distinct categories, for the categories section, the user is able to input and access information that he/she needs quickly and conveniently.
The app has two distinct features that are present on every screen — a font size slider that increases the font size to suit the user's need and a voice input function so users can talk into to the microphone for queries or information. Users can also input information by tapping and dragging on sliders. Graphs are used to tabulate and visualize bio data so that the user's health can be assessed at a glance. A journal is present so that users can add daily entries about their health, which can be viewed by the family through the family portal.

In the "Pain" section, a diagram of a human body allows the user to quickly access where exactly the pain is present. Then the user can assess the pain level through a pain scale.
The family portal looks similar to the user portal in terms of design aesthetic, but the main focus is on quickly accessing information that is relevant to the family member or caregiver. This is done through the use of calendars and tabulated data in the form of graphs and easily accessible journal notes.
