For my double bed machine knitting class, I was inspired by the movement of seed pods as they crack open, the surprising reveal of the inside color and texture, the impression of the seed pods left on the shell, and the modular units or shapes within the pod. Using these characteristics as inspiration, I utilized the two beds of the machine to create dimensional pattern and structure as well as the illusion of a multi-layered knit.
