SPAMpaign – De-automating and Challenging Interactions on Social Media

Exploration of Spam/spam content, and the idea of an online personal profile as a curation of content about oneself.  I used my own personal profile on Facebook and Instagram, to post a flurry of content about spam and Spam over the course of two weeks; "spamming my profile with spam." The bemused and encouraging reaction from peers, friends and family were incorporated in the final translation of two products that de-automate the platforms of Facebook and Instagram and challenge the idea of personal profiles, access and privacy, and the information we release online and what that says about us.
