This identity application is meant to be upbeat and modern, which coincides with Manos' newly renovated look inside the restaurant! People want food that tastes good, but they want it to be fresh and healthy too. Using tomatoes, olives and peppers - bright, plump, firm and healthy - are great symbols of what people want in their dining. Also, they are good examples of foods that are not indigenous to Canada, leaving the customer with the impression that the food is unique at this establishment, and the experience exotic and foreign, which is something our society craves. I also wanted to experiment with images of olives which are very Greek, and represent the fact that Manos is a Greek restaurant. A clean, crisp and sophisticated look (which is very important when dealing with food) is established with a white background and by achieving a unique approach without clutter. The idea is to somewhat personify the food shown by creating little situations that people will recognize and relate to. It is showing the enjoyable fun and energetic atmosphere of Manos by using bright colours and witty sayings. The unique use of food portrays the uniqueness of Manos and their menu. There is opportunity to use many different foods and new sayings or thoughts. These interesting little scenarios will grab attention and the humour will be remembered, emphasizing brand recognition. Consistency is maintained by using the same concept on every marketing and promo piece. However, with slight variations, the elements of surprise and uniqueness grab the customer's interest, giving them the impression of something new and exciting at Manos!
