This year Google issued new regulations with regards to websites being 'Mobile Friendly', websites that don't adhere to these rules have the potential to be penalised and stripped of rankings on mobile or tablet searches.
Southwesterly Windbreaks website was a bit tired and in need of an facelift. This was the perfect opportunity to strip the website back and rebuild to adhere to Google's march deadline.
The idea for the new website was simple, sticking to Southwesterly Windbreaks brand guidelines, create a fully responsive, vibrant and eye-catching, image led website focusing on the beauty and craftsmanship that goes in to making each eco-friendly product.
I created the concept for the website, sketched, designed, built and even hand coded the page templates to allow staff to use the back end without the need for a trained designer to update the website for them. I also deep etched, retouched and created every image, background and texture seen throughout the entire website.
This was a learning curve as it was the first responsive website I have created from storyboard to publishing. Having taught myself WordPress, HTML, CSS and PHP over the last 6 months. I am very proud of the outcome...however there is still plenty to tweek!
