This look is a materials study on wool and it's possibilities with the method of felting and how I could create a full look utilizing wool's ability to felt together and fuse fibers together. I was also to challenge my abilities as a pattern maker by fully patterning this entire look and creating individual pattern pieces for each article of clothing.
The jacket and center piece of this look is derived from a Japanese pattern making book that would create wearable garments out of flat 2D shapes like circles, squares and triangles. This jacket is derived from a triangle and I was interested in how this garments shape could be read in two forms of viewing. Two-dimensional when it is not being worn and stored away, and three-dimensional when it is being worn on the body.
