Leather Scrap Oxford Shoes

  • In this project I developed a process of up-cycling found leather scraps as a unique suede upper, which was cemented and sanded down, resembling a marbled effect and growth patterns seen biologically and geographically. The subtractive process makes a connection to natural erosion processes in layers, further illustrated in topographic maps.

The rest of the shoe was constructed in a traditional oxford style with leather soling, in an attempt to elevate and celebrate the once thrown out material.
