Since the beginning of my time at RISD I have had a great interest in learning and finding aspects that make up a home. For my Journalistic Illustration final, I decided to create a series of images enclosed in a small accordion book that focuses on the idea of home and domesticity.
To get a true and honest sense of the complex, multidimensional qualities of a domestic space, I decided to explore the topic by documenting the physical and emotional aspects of home through the physical belongings of my peers.
After conducting several interviews with my peers, I was able to get a better sense of their ideas and create pieces which include an illustrated image of their object as well as an excerpt from each interviewee's interview.
