LUMINOUS STRUCTURES -FALL15'

Testing our daylight solution ideas in half scale in this 10' by 8' cube model for our guests from Saint Gobain. Each side lays out a model done by two partners in class section. Mainframe in wood with reflective material applications
My partner Eashan and I testing our model on the ceiling of the cube. There had to be a certain amount of daylight entering from the tube to light up the white interior wall, so we worked with reflective inner surfaces and shaped our device to be as efficient as possible. Later on, I worked on an individual design proposal for the improved device that can operate in a building. The device is compatible with the building form as it sits on the outer edge of the building structure and lets daylight through the curved opening.
My previous design proposal built to a quarter of actual scale where one can see the device function as it reflects light to the ceiling in a diffused way. The proposed facade elevation can be seen below.
