Design Principles II
Was given specific user group and a problem set to create a product which could help improve the problem.
Objective: To increase interaction of children in the age group of 6 - 12 and nature.
Help them become more aware about importance of nature by emphasizing plants are live organisms.
Step I: Planning and Building
Created rendered file of Podwaves in Solidworks. Handmade outer structure of product and laser cut the rest. Connected everything together with an adhesive. Made a looks-like prototype.
Step II: Final Product
Podwaves functions with two solar panels which charges up when the plant is getting sunlight. Sound can be heard with mono speaker in the back. The screen placed in the front is touch screen.
Step III: Packaging
Originally packaging was not a required part of assignment. Packaging created to fit all the products: Podwaves, plant seed container (with seeds inside), plant pot, and watering handle. Packaing is made with recylable material to accentuate product's characteristic of nature friendliness.
In the Environment
Two pictures above shows how product works in the environment. Podwaves' user group is for children 6 - 12, but shows it can also work with adults as well in office or home spaces.
