"Walking in Italy" (based on a childhood photograph) Construction paper and crayon on paper, 8 x 11 inches
"Derivation" detail. The textures in this paintign were achieved by transfering gel copies of my childhood drawinsg onto the painted canvas, and then "reacting" to them with paint and collage. Paint wass applied with wooden blocks, and collage material was ripped uo construction paper. This process pushed me to work impulsively, reacting purely to color and shape.
