This dress was selceted to be featured in the American Heart Associate and Macys Go Red for Women Campaign Fashion Show. My dress was inspired by beta fish specifically ones in Malaysia living in the harsh conditions of rice patties. The strong nature of the fish and resilience reminds me of the women fighting this terrible disease. With that being said when I began my research I focused on the movement of the fish combined with the nature of their habitat. This led me to using an intricate lace with scallop detail that would resemble the fish tail. The design of the dress shows classic elegance with some sexy sheer panels. In conclusion this dress represents the beauty and strength of the fish and the women fighting this disease.

Then I researched the beta fish from Malaysia rice patties and their living conditions. On the right page is other designers that were inspired by beta fish.

This is my midterm muslin that is sewn and fitted. Then latter on made changed.
This muslin is the final version with added light weight lace in order to see fit and movement. The final version muslin is what patterns were used to make final dress.
