Mostly Mozart Music Festival Posters

For this project, I wanted to create two posters that would advertise an upcoming event called the Mostly Mozart Festival. Being a Nintendo fan, I decided to mix Mozart with Super Mario for a comedic and fun twist on a classical music festival. Each of these were made in Adobe Photoshop with images taken from Google Images. The first poster utilizes a symmetrically balanced approach, while the second poster uses more of a asymmetrically balanced approach. For each, I wanted to use a grouping of images to draw the eye to the most important pieces of information, as well as add a sort of rhythm/flow to the posters in general. This unity is used to grab people's attetion, as well as emphasize what information is the most important. In the first poster, the eyes are immediately drawn to Mozart and Beethoven dressed as Mario and Luigi, and then to the bottom of the poster where all the important information is. For the second poster, the flow starts at the bottom corner with Mozart punching the question block, and then to the right of that with all the necessary information. They then look up to the clouds, which leads to the remainder of the information about the kinds of music that will be featured. For both posters, I alternated between two different fonts. One more reminiscant of classical music, and one more video game themed. Again for each, the word "mostly" was made larger and emphasized in a different way in order to show that there was definitely not only Mozart music being played. For the sake of the assignment, I came up with the idea of "the Nintendo Orchestra", a fictional orchestra that will be putting on the event. Also, the date (April 1st) was chosen to complete the comedic theme of these posters. All joking aside, I would definitely go to this event if it were real.
