Layout
Such a broad term, isn't it?
It took me a while to decide to put these items in a separate album, to showcase some of the information design I've done.  Arranged reverse-chronologically, this should give you an idea of how I've evolved in this arena.

It's funny (funny-strange, not funny-haha) to me that "User Experience Design" is considered a field all on its own—isn't all design user experience design?  No one designs without a user in mind, so one would only imagine that every designer is a user experience designer, because if you're not thinking of the user's experience, you're probably not doing a very good job of designing!

(and yes, I realize that user experience designers are typically found in the realm of interaction design; I just think it's misleading for that title to only be granted to such individuals)
Sample page from an informational school sponsorship brochure for the Technovation Challenge (www.technovationchallenge.org).  This is probably iteration...20?

My first experiment with InDesign's Data Merge feature, as well as my first project using TK Type's wonderful Chartwell (http://tktype.com/chartwell.php) font. I cannot recommend this font enough to people working with layouts with graphs, especially because it plays SO nice with Data Merge!
Color palette for final project for my first ever design class.  The project was a branding and billboard assignment for a full-contact bicycle derby sport, and I decided to have a little fun with the color concept page.  More details on this project can be found in the "Coursework" album.
Layout (front and back) of a "one-pager" project for Iridescent (www.iridescentlearning.org).  Colors were taken from the photographs.
Four sample pages from the program for the 2011 Technovation Challenge National Pitch night.  Clockwise, from top left: agenda, mission and acknowledgements, sample team description, judges.  For more information on the Technovation Challenge, please visit www.technovationchallenge.org.
Six sample pages from the program for the 2008 University of Pittsburgh Freshman Engineering New Millenium Conference.  Top row: front cover, agenda. Middle row: content page showing layout and hierarchy, back cover. Bottom row: program centerfold showcasing then-recent developments in the School of Engineering.

My senior year of college, I had the honor of being the Conference Coordinator for this event.  In this role, I created a lot of conference collateral that I will post in its own album if I can find it!  For more information on this conference, please visit: www.engineering.pitt.edu/freshmanconference
