The purpose of this project is to explore and gain an understanding of abstracting imagery and to create a mark that has meaning and purpose. This includes an exploration of incorporating imagery and type to create meaning, and how shape and abstraction of form can evoke meaning.

This project has taught me a lot about abstracting shapes and how to leave out enough information and still have your logo mark read off as the animal you orginially chose. Going through the process of this project, it was challenging for me not to try and make the logo realisitic. When I thought about the features of my animal, I wanted to draw every single feather, which made me understand that in mark making, only a few feathers still leaves enough information for the viewer to understand that the logo is a bird.
