This project at École Nationale Supérieure de Création Industrielle,Paris was carried out for a Spanish shoe brand, Naguisa.
The brief involved exploring designs in jacquard weaving for developing handmade shoes known as Espadrilles, that the company specialised in.
Designs were developed taking a certain theme along with understanding jacquard weaving and its process.
The final outcome was a piece of fabric developed for the shoe and sent to the company.
Naguisa is a footwear company founded in 2012 in Barcelona which aspires to offer products that preserve their artisan spirit, combining design and functionality. The love of craftwork with a personal hallmark has been the motivation for researching and getting familiar with new materials.
The remarkable world of tiles formed the inspiration for this project.
The effect with overlapping of patterns-geometric and curvy was an interesting aspect.
