Fundada en 1822; una de las muestras más tempranas de la industrialización gijonesa, en el año 1837la fábrica fue instalada definitivamente en el antiguo convento de las Agustinas Recoletas, en el Barrio de Cimadevilla.
En el año 2002 cesó su actividad, cediendo al paso de los años y el abandono.
