I've been reading a lot of books about feminist utopias and dystopias lately, and a common theme for many of them has been motherhood. As a female-bodied, essentially motherless individual, I often find myself contemplating the idea of what a mother is and how this figure is perceived by the society I live in. So I decided to ask Google what it thinks a mother looks like, and apparently a mother is usually a very pretty, smiling white woman, with a white baby, wearing matching white clothing, and existing in a white non-space.
