Industrial Locker and Bench

This is a quick sketch I did after a friend said that she wanted some lockers for her childrens stuff.
As luck would have it, the very next day I found these at a  barn sale for $10.
I polished one to see how it would look cleaned up.
There was rust on the bottoms, so they'd need some reinforcement and cleaning to be safe for home use
I cut out rusty metal and used engineered plywood as a base, added glue and corner blocks for stability.
used salvaged wood from a confessional I had previously disassembled
Flush base makes for easy application of sliders to facilitate movement on any floor
Next up, build a bench to store items and sit on. First, build a sturdy box with storage:
I used industrial index file drawers and a vintage typography drawer as storage
Type drawer wood nicely matches the wood from the confessional,
which I used as a veneer to the bench-box I built
The top of the bench is made up of time worn, factory used wood, taken from a fabric cutting table.
It also beautifully matches the confessional wood and type drawer.
Here is the complete piece "dry-fit". The green index drawers match the locker green color nicely.
The vintage metal letters (I had lying around) are the initals of each family member.
Next up: clean, wax and load up for delivery to client.
Install almost complete, with custom mirror I also created.
It has black chalkboard paint so that the family can leave notes for each other.
