Veldwerk
A publication with 12 graphic designers about the first year after graduation

Veldwerk, when translated it means field work. Twelve graphic designers who graduated in the past fifty years talk about their experiences in their first year after graduating from art academy. What assignments did you get? How did you deal with clients? What setbacks did you come across? How did you find work? Which ideas did you have about the professional world of graphic design before you graduated and was that vision correct? But they also share their tips, the important lessons they have learned and can share with graphic design students who are about to graduate themselves. The purpose of this book is to give graphic design graduates more insight in what the first year after graduation is like.

Because we didn't want to favour any designer on the cover, every designer has it's own book and size. Every book is proportioned in a way that each book is an A6. They simply vary in height and width. This way every designer is visible on the cover and you can start reading at the image that strikes you the most.

This publication was made in a limited edition and every book is stitched by hand. Note to self: think before you promise people a copy of the book.
