~ F U T U R E S C A P E ~
Futurescape is a narrative journey and ‘database’ for a new alternate future science-fiction world. Futurescape’s narrative is set approximately 787 years into the future, in the year 2802, based a re-imagining of near-future events lead humanity to spread throughout the galaxy. Eventually, geo-political disasters lead towards the inevitable destruction of Earth’s atmosphere in the year 2141, leaving off-world planetary colonies to fend for themselves. Over 660 years later, the galaxy is now dominated by bitter remnant governments, and cutthroat corporate powers, all competing with each other for dominion over a changing, hostile universe, across the stars.
The aim of the project is to engage new users within an interactive overview of the fiction of Futurescape. The webpage goes on to deliver complex information, maps, and a timeline, through an engaging visual and interactive experience, as well as offering a diverse array of media and unique designs that add flavour and sets the mood, while still abiding by a consistent style guide and aesthetic.
