The Desk Toy is a scaled down and simplified rendition of a vintage film camera. The brief asked students to make the desk toy using off-cuts of wood. The toy needed to be made in five parts that all fit together to make the camera form. The brief reqiuired a familiarity with wood joining methods to create the interlocking puzzle peices of the camera, as well as an interesting lamination of small wood offcuts to create the forms. My desk toy is 250mm tall and is a fun and interesting past-time, which can elegantly fit to any executives desk.
