Lola is number one in my 100 strangers series. She is 20 yrs old and studies psychology. She was with a friend but very kindly agreed to take part. The first few shots were quite fun with a really good smile, but I felt this shot captured something special and created a more intimate feeling image.

Karla was chilling out near the canal in Camden when I approached her. She was really receptive to the idea and agreed to take part. I found Karla very easy going, easy to chat to and it made the whole experience very comfortable. It also meant that I was able to try several different shots and direct the shoot more confidently. I think the resulting portrait is quite soulful rather than technically perfect, but I like it a lot.
Andrew is 3/100 in my 100 strangers project. The light here was nice and soft with total cloud cover. I also found a cafe close by with a beautiful teal/blue wall which I thought would work beautifully as a flat background. I like the effect and it really contrasts the skin tone to make Andrew 'pop' within the image.
