Wong Tai Sin Temple

The Fung Loy Kok Institute of Taoism opened a new temple in Toronto: the Wong Tai Sin Temple. Wong Dai Sin was a shepherd boy who became immortal by practising the Taoist arts on Mount Chisong (“Red Pine”) in Zhejiang.

The Temple is in a residential neighborhood near the northern limit of the city. It sits on a small parcel of land, so to fulfill the city's parking requirements, the design had to be creative. The temple was designed by Shim-Sutcliffe Architects and Blackwell Structural Engineers.
