Conservation Coast celebrates the stretch of pristine Cape South Coast from False Bay to Cape Agulhas, where a number of coastal and offshore conservancy areas offer sanctuary to indigenous fynbos flora and visiting marine life.
Conservation Coast’s name suggests that its distinctive coastal provenance allows for appellation specific vineyard and barrel treatment whilst delivering the subtle structured elements of a Burgundian counterpart.
A vertical release of 2012 and 2013 vintages of Whalehavens rare coastal reserve. Sourced from cool climate vineyards near the sea, the land is close to the sea which is echoes through the wave details in the label. The Conservation Coast script was developed by Andrew Van De Merwe, one of the top sand calligraphers and incorporates the mother & baby whale that forms part of the Whalehaven winery icon. The limited release wines indicate the number of each bottle on the necklabel. The range uses eco-friendly paper in the main label.
