Hammock Pattern: Digital Printed Transfer

I have slept in the tree houses of the forest, the cabins of the mountains, and the bungalows of beautiful beaches.  Originally popular in Europe but now widespread across the US, hostels are a great way to travel, experience natures beauty and be a part of a community.  Finding inspiration in natures colors, textures, patterns, and shapes everywhere you look.  From the line work of each individual tree to the rippling circles of the lake; nature forms patterns all around us.  Rich colors of the leaves, vegetables, mushrooms and wildflowers create a color palette that has always felt comforting for me.  There is something about being surrounded by the color green that has always felt like home.  In this series of patterns I have created illustrations of different objects I found inspiring while staying at these hostels through drawing, painting, and computer manipulation.  I then did a digital printed heat transfer onto nylon rip stop fabric.  These patterns are seen for the use of hammocks.
