The goal of this composite image was to illustrate the thoughts and ideas streaming out of the subject’s mind. The subject in this case is a statue of our school mascot, Bob the Bobcat. He is painted in a way to show all of the diversity in the school, both the student body and the interests that they have. I used various selection tools and quick mask mode to select parts of photos I had taken to show Bob's stream of thought coming from an opening on his back. There are two sets of fireworks to show excitement, a globe showing Africa because we have about 30 refugees from there that are new to America as well as our school, an eagle to represent America, a flower, dragonfly and cardinal to show our differences. I used transform tools to rotate and scale, the layer panel to order the layers and to change the opacity of the fireworks layers. I added text, sampling colors from Bob, that describe our campus. I rotated and positioned those as well. In working on this, I'm reminded of how important it is for students to have a plan before they start working.
