For "Pop Noir" I combined a few of my interests: pop art, 1950s fashion, film noir, and anime into an evening wear collection. The pieces strike a balance between familiar couture shapes and with a touch of Japanese inspiration in the form of a kimono jacket. To further heighten the feeling these pieces could exist in an animated world, they are extremely simple in silhouette, almost to the point of being distilled down to the simplest expression of what a dress could be, and splashed with Roy Lichtenstein-inspired explosion prints.
