An art test done a little while ago for Games Workshop. All up was close to 1000 layers! Didn't get through unfortunately but I learnt a lot from the process and really pushed myself to get it done to my highest ability within the time limit. I pretty much know where I went wrong; they provided some feedback for the points that I didn't meet. I think I was also trying to do too many things at once that aren't what I'm currently the most comfortable with (multiple characters, whole environment, lots of metallic surfaces) which made it a lot harder for myself. Not that going out of your comfort zone is a bad thing - just probably shouldn't have done it for an art test. I might try again later and if I do I'll try keeping it simple (so I can better focus on getting the characters right).

Anyway, hope that was somewhat informative and cheers for looking. Let me know what you think and remember not to get disheartened if you at first don't succeed - keep practising, studying and trying and take what you've learnt for next time. As they say - failure is always the best way to learn!

Done in Photoshop CC (2015) with my Wacom intuos pro tablet over many hours.
