Each student was given a 6 inch brass ruler to design an apporpriate design on the surface of the ruler.
I was inspired by the traditional Japanese patterns and decided to imitate their wave patterns.
After creating a mood board, I started to design a wave pattern on Illustrator.
I decided to add my Chinese initials on the bottom of the ruler to give an even more traditional vibe.
When I finished the Illustration file, I brought it over to Solidworks and positioned and oriented it correctly on the ruler model.
After positioning the two images onto the ruler, I started creating G-codes for the CNC to run.
