Creatures - textile sculpture
Materials: printed textile, steel wire.

The inspiration for this piece was the newest discoveries in marine biology. Thanks to the newly developed technologies we are able to see and admire creatures living so far below in the ocean depths that only a few people were able to reach - more people have been on the moon than in these depths of the oceans.

The self-developed technique I used was based on experimenting with the effect of exposing synthetic fabrics to high temperatures and fire. As a consequence, the edges began to shrink, burn, melt and create bubble-like effects. Using these efforts, I have developed very varied and rich structures of organic character.

The body of each of these creatures is hand-printed. First, using screenprint technique, I have added an Oculus pattern made of tree branches and subsequently coloured it by using fabric paints which were transferred on the surface with high temperature.
