Handmade Paper

Series THROWN and WAY.
Materials: handmade paper, Japanese paper - Kozo and paper made from indigenous dried plants.

In series THROWN and WAY I used a naturally pigmented paper.
These pieces were an exploration of sustainable approach towards papermaking.  using organic waste materials, such as banana peels, cut grass, dried plants etc. Instead of using new cellulose, I decided to recycle paper and cardboard. To achieve different colours I was using natural dyes and using a natural colour of various components.

The project WAY is a monumental work (2 pieces, approx. 4m high) inspired by the night skyline and the cosmos. It is my interpretation of the Milky Way. Series Thrown is my own play and experimentation with the rectangular form and study of composition.
