Some of my cloud studies done in Verve Painter and Paintstorm Studio. Really trying to get a feel for colours and blending. Part of my personal photography work is handy for reference as I've been lucky to capture some great sunsets! A few examples can be found here

Both Verve and Paintstorm Studio applications aim to give a traditional feel digitally. Verve in particular has fluidity and layered feeling to the paints over a canvas. Verve is completely free and Paintstorm Studio isn't too much (and I think has a free demo!)

My main inspirations when looking at landscape art are Turner (naturally!) and Scottish Landscape Artist Scott Naismith. I love the vibrance in their own works along with that real sense of depth in the skies.
