Ausha with Leafs - Pablo Picasso

In the first half of 20th century Pablo Picasso was probably the most important figure in that age, he was an influential and different in terms of artwork and art movement during that period of time. As I read in more than one article that Pablo Picasso ruled western art before the age of 50th, as an artist who became the most famous and known name in contemporary art. Moreover, he is known as the most distinct and unique artist in his style, also he has the eye for artistic creation. The art world has a big impact with Picasso’s artwork and this well-known artist nowadays inspires many artists and you can see his technique in their work.
Pablo Picasso is a great artist that gave me an inspiration to create an Emirati tradition artwork with his artwork style. A famous painting of Picasso’s artwork called “Jacqueline with flower” that he painted in 1954, he simply described a story about a woman in his painting and I would describe an Emirati woman in his artwork style. In addition, I found the way he used geometric shapes in most of his paints made them unique and different, also the texture and constancy of colors in his art and the innovative way in dividing the paint into pieces. (Jacqueline with flowers, 1954 by Picasso, 2009)
Likewise I admired Picasso’s artwork that called “Girl before a mirror” in 1932, this painting is considered as one of my favorite pieces of Picasso’s work but this work has been criticize a lot in terms of the meaning and it showed a wide range of reactions from artists. On the other hand, the colors in this artwork are a affective, in my point of view I think the painter chose to express feelings and to show different textures in the paint, also to provide values in it. Generally, this pain was painted multiple times during the 1930's and it is a young girl was named Marie Therese Walter. (Girl Before A Mirror, 1932 by Pablo Picasso, 2009)
In the early of 1960s Picasso kept working on his experiments in making flat sculptures with a series of works in a completely new skill and technique. At the beginning he created small models by folded paper and cardboard and thus was his use of those materials in his early Cubist sculptures. As a result of this work Picasso produced an amalgam of painting and sculpture. As an example of this description, a painting of Picasso’s work called “Tete d’une Femme Lisant” which means “Head of a woman reading” was created in 1953, he applied random lines in his artwork to have a non-naturalistic color of a human skin and texture. However, he used black lines to define the features of the woman face and hair in this artwork and that to make the structures stand out more and show the concept of this pain. (Tete d'une Femme Lisant (Head of a Woman Reading), 1953, 2009)
The great artist Picasso has been said many quotes which has a huge meaning and big impact on many modern artist and one of my favorite quote of him is “Bad artist copy. Good artist steal” (Pablo Picasso and his paintings, 2009). In addition, this wonderful artist used varieties of colors in his painting and artwork and that depend on the work mood. Nowadays there are many painters and artist who use the same style of Picasso’s artwork. In addition, many digital artist use the style of Picasso in different designs and artwork not only in painting.
Picasso was recognized with his odds drawing and his conflation of painting and sculpture that is what I am willing to create. The artwork will contain Picasso’s artistic techniques with another story that will have the Emirati woman and the traditional textures of UAE, and that would be described by my own way mixed with this famous great artist. The work can tell a story about a traditional Emirati woman, showing the details of the traditional clothes, jewelry, henna, hair and texture.
