The Battle of Yavin or the Death Star attack as it's more commonly known is the final act in George Lucas's space opera, Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope. The set piece involves the now famous X-Wing piloted by Luke Skywalker as he tries to defeat Darth Vader and destroy the Death Star.
His call sign in the Death Star attack was Red 5 and this original illustration celebrates his glorious run down that trench before firing his proton torpedo and annihilating the Imperial spaceship.
