SPRING/ SUMMER COLLECTION
This collection provides an alternate way of recycling and re-using fabrics. I was really inspired by home décor, particulary the nautical prints around my summer house located on Cape Cod, Massachusetts. From this inspiration, I created a hypothetical spring/ summer collection by re-purposing the different curtains, bedding, tablecoths, and other household fabrics I could find, thus upcycling them into apparel.
Since the collection is based on recycled fabric there will only be a certain amount of each particular material available for use. Therefore each garment will be an original due to the unique fabric. The collection shown below exists as a template for the styles available. Each garment will be available to the customer as a standard pattern, but the fabrics will difffer. As a way to properly demonstrate the possibility of this, I went to various thrift stores and gathered different fabrics I thought would fit the overall mood of the collection. I then created 3 sets of flats for each look to show an example of different possibilities for recycled fabrics.
