University of Dammam

The University of Dammam required a totally new website with a fresh new design that both appealed to its local and international audience. As a world-class university, the website had to cater for the varied users that make use of the website from students, researchers and faculty staff. We were asked to design the site with Arabic users in mind, as the site was designed to be multi-lingual across all platforms.

The process involved a detailed study of web typefaces to make sure we had the best English and Arabic type-match. We also specifically designed the website to work seamlessly with Arabic without compromising the experience. To add to the overall intuitive usage of the website, we also made sure the mobile-friendly version of the website felt and acted more like an App rather than a website.

We utilised PatternLab to help build a large stylesheet for the development team to utilise and for future expansion and builds of the site, setting the visual and blueprint for all components, layouts and information design on the website.
The consultancy process also involved direction for the photography, design language and development of the brand guidelines.
