This project focused on creating a stool by the process of bending maple plywood that brings function and beauty to consumers. After researching my intended consumer, I took inspiration from loft-style living spaces and the style an urban couple would enjoy. I sketched multiple ideas and from there narrowed it down to three concepts. These concepts I rendered and created 1/5 scale moc-ups to illustrate the concept in 3D form. After creating a full-scale prototype of the final concept, I made adjustments and finalized my design. My final design consists of four glued layers of bent maple plywood which are fastened to the one inch round stock steel frame with six hex screws. I created a logo and branded my stool The Futro.
