Argus & Nexus Fly Reels
Package Design for Douglas Outdoors' Products
One of my major tasks as a designer at Douglas Outdoors happens to also be a passion: packaging design. In 2014, I was fortunate enough to work with an incredible manufacturing team, an insightful sales and marketing group and some foremost industry experts to bring the American-made Argus Fly Reel to life. From the laser-engraving to the packaging itself, Argus was an incredible project to have been responsible for.
The Nexus Reel (below), provided an entirely new challenge in that the design had to be placed in-template to be shipped overseas for printing. Ultimately, I think the results were wonderful. The two products have packaging that truly reflects the difference in both their style, as well as the customer's style.
