Artificial Food - Resin Casting for Props

These props were all created using resin casting. First I made moulds from the genuine article. For anything that did not have a flat surface, such as an apple and strawberry, I made a mould by securing the object inside a tube on top of a wooden dowel. This was all secured to a piece of MDF with hot glue. Into this I poured 'Mould Life Supersil'. When this dried I could create multiples of the object in resin, before finishing them with paint and glaze.
The items with a flat surface ie. the sweets and biscuit, were glued inside a pre-prepared MDF box, before being thoroughly sprayed with hairspray to make it easier to release the mould (or a genuine release agent), then continueing as above.
I hope you have enjoyed looking at my artificial food. I would really appreciate it if you could click on the like button below, if you liked it. Thank you :)
