Rethinking the Personalized Retail Experience.

Possibility Place LLC wanted to create a unique entertainment experience that combined cutting edge facial scanning technology with 3D printing and interactive videos - called AvaStars.

Float created a process that combines a number of advanced technologies to instantaneously capture a detailed three dimensional model of your face and then transform you into a fully articulated 3D printed doll and a custom interactive video.

The AvaStarShip makes the underlying technology friendly and easy to use. Float worked with Possibility Place to create a standalone, self contained retail kiosk. My team and I created an interface that makes the complex scanning process automated, fast, reliable, and most importantly - fun

Cameras adjust to your height automatically, the picture is taken at precisely the right time, and the user gets instant feedback on their progress. Within a few seconds the process is complete and the customer is transformed into the character of their dreams.

With my direction, my team created a series of 18 digital characters featured in dramatic 90 second animated video shorts. I worked closely with Possibility Place to develop the character concepts and the stories. As the sole Creative Director on these video experiences, I directed and produced all the content that brings to life the ‘you of your dreams’ on screen.

Customers are more loyal to an experience when they can customize it and use it to interact with friends. AvaStars is designed to encourage social play at its core. I also oversaw the creation of a mobile app that allows people to take their digital AvaStar and further customize it at home with new clothing and accessories, hair styles, poses, backgrounds, and messages and then share that through their social media channels.
