The Santa Rosa County Courthouse (built 1927) in Milton, Santa Rosa County, Florida has served as the county's judicial facility for almost 90 years. In recent yeas, the county has outgrown the building and is trying to build a new judicial center to meet the needs of a much larger population. While the county commissioners are debating on how and where to build the new facility, Main Street Milton has taken the proactive step of suggesting a new use and design for the building and grounds. Most notable is: the exterior restoraion of the building, including the reconstruction of the top portion; the removal of modular buildings to reopen Oak Street; and the creation of a new festival green with bandstand and splash-pad.
