CUBAN FOOD TRUCK

custom logotype, created by outlining my final sketch with the pen tool in Illustrator.
La Cubanita is a mobile restaurant serving authentic Cuban Empanadas (meat pies), homemade fries, and Tostones (Fried plantains).

From their website:
"Authentic Cuban food, made by Cubans! Family recipes we grew up on. Come and taste! Picadillo (ground beef) is something made in every Cuban home. It’s the equivalent of mac-n-cheese in an American home. Every Cuban family makes Picadillo differently. The recipe varies from having raisins and olives, to garbanzo beans and onions, to potatoes and more. For four generations the recipe has been passed down and modified. Our recipe includes locally raised grass fed beef, sauteed with onions, green peppers, latin spices, green olives, and simmered in a tomato based sauce until perfection. Cuban Chicken Fricase is tender chicken sauteed in Cuban sofrito, latin spices, green olives, and simmered in a tomato and white wine based sauce. Both of these recipes are placed into a dough and fried to a golden crisp becoming empanadas. Empanadas originated in Spain. Our ancestors migrated from Spain to Cuba in 1915 and since then empanadas have been a favorite treat in our family. And we know you will love them too!"
The design process began with solving the problem that Cuban food is unfamilar to most Tennesseans, therefore even return customers don't know what they ordering or which item goes with which. I solved this by creating illustrations for their two highest selling foods: Tostones and Empanadas.
The truck menu: simple and easy to read options even from far away.
