As the visual component of the written word, typography is an important part of communication and design. My fascination with dead animals, taxidermy and animal bones lead me to create this typeface for my own personal use.

 

I created "Owl Puke" from just that, owl puke! Owls cannot digest bones or hair from their prey so they regularly regurgitate pellets full of bones and hair. I dissected these owl pellets and cleaned and whitened the bones I found. I then arranged them in shapes of the alphabet and photographed them.
