This chandelier was a university project. As a part of the Visual Arts in Islamic
Context, we were asked to build a product using an Islamic style or decoration.

So I decided to use Al muqarnas which is an islamic type of wall or ceiling
decoration, which is used to make a smooth transition from rectangular basis of
the building to the vaulted ceiling, and make a Muqarnas Chandelier.
Since there are many types of muqarnasat, which are based on a complex
mathmatical/ architectural equations, I started observing the shapes of the
muqarnasat, and upon my observation and with the help of a simple
research, I was able to draw a plane of the chandelier and templates of the
muqrnas cesll and build my own muqarnas cells out of 300 grm gold cardboard
which gave the chandelier a rich feeling.
